In Brief

A new market, an expanding partnership and a geolocation provider that already knows Alberta. Online casino Casino Time has expanded its partnership with us as it launches into Alberta's newly regulated iGaming market, building on an existing relationship and bringing together Casino Time's Canadian gaming experience with more than five years of our geolocation experience in the province.

A player opening Casino Time in Alberta probably won't give much thought to the technology establishing whether they're actually in the province and that's rather the point. As Casino Time takes its online casino experience into Alberta's newly regulated gaming market, we are once again working behind the scenes to provide the geolocation technology supporting seamless player journey and regulatory compliance.

However, this isn't the beginning of the story. Casino Time first partnered with us for our Ontario operations, where the award-winning geolocation technology was integrated into the Casino Time platform to support compliant location verification while maintaining a seamless player experience.

Now, the partnership has moved west, Casino Time has expanded its use of GeoLocs into Alberta as the casino operator grows its presence across regulated Canadian gaming. Casino Time is now registered and regulated to operate in both Ontario and Alberta, with more than 3,000 games across slots, live dealer, bingo and other casino content.

When Casino Time originally selected us in Ontario, its priority was clear: meet the regulatory requirements of the market without compromising the player experience . At the time, Casino Time COO Jeffrey Holmes described our support as “incredible” and its knowledge of geolocation and the Ontario market as “second to none.”

Two years later, that partnership is entering its next chapter. Casino Time's expansion into Alberta builds on the technology relationship already established in Ontario, providing continuity as the operator enters another regulated Canadian market. In Alberta, that continuity comes with an additional advantage: we have more than five years of geolocation experience in the province.

Casino Time knows how our technology works and we know Alberta. Our team first-hand experience of a market where location isn't always as straightforward as a pin on a map. Alberta's size matters, and so does the way people connect. Different devices, networks and connectivity methods can create location scenarios where an unusual signal isn't necessarily a suspicious one. The job isn't simply knowing when to say no, it's knowing when to say yes. For Casino Time, geolocation needs to help prevent play from outside the permitted jurisdiction while giving legitimate Alberta players a straightforward route in. That's particularly important when entering a new and competitive regulated market. If an eligible player is unnecessarily stopped at the point they want to play, a compliance process can quickly become a player experience problem and potentially a commercial one too.

Jeffrey Holmes, chief operating officer at Casino Time, said:

“Our relationship with GeoLocs has been built on trust, reliability and a shared focus on delivering the best possible player experience. As we continue our growth in Canada, it was important to work with a partner that understands the realities of regulated gaming and can support us as we enter new markets. GeoLocs has consistently delivered on both fronts, making them a key part of our expansion strategy.”

Will Whitehead, Commercial Director at GeoLocs, said:

“There's something particularly rewarding about seeing an existing partnership grow into another market. We first started working with Casino Time in Ontario in 2024, and we're really pleased they've chosen to take GeoLocs with them as they expand into Alberta.

There's a real advantage on both sides. Casino Time already knows our technology and our team, while we bring more than five years of experience understanding geolocation in Alberta. Ultimately, our role remains the same: give Casino Time confidence in where its players are while making location verification as straightforward as possible for their players. We're excited to continue the partnership and support Casino Time as its Canadian presence grows.”

Alberta marks an exciting next step in this partnership. What began with supporting Casino Time in Ontario is now expanding into a second regulated Canadian market, building on an established relationship as the operator grows its presence across the country. We see Alberta not as the end point, but as another step in a partnership with plenty of room to grow.
